We're thrilled to announce that our friend, Joar Palm, an experienced trail and ultra runner, has teamed up with Sörmlands 100 Trail. With a background in triathlon and professional MMA, Joar brings a wealth of expertise and passion for adventure.

Joar has developed training programs perfect for 10 km runners aiming for a half marathon and marathon runners ready to conquer their first ultra. His approach emphasizes experience, feeling, and continuity over performance alone.

Choose our training plan for the 55 km, or 21 km distances. Joar's program includes guidance on balancing intensity and recovery for optimal results.

Distance Options and Weekly Structure: Choose from two distances: 21 km or 55 km. Each program includes three to four weekly sessions, focusing on quality runs designed to build your endurance progressively week by week over a 12-week period.

Training Focus: Ideal for those returning to running after a break, the program starts gently and ramps up methodically. Experienced runners can extend distance runs and incorporate more interval training.

Joar Palm's Insights: "Training and challenging myself has always been a big part of my life, and I have reached a point where performance is no longer the sole driving force. Just as much focus is now on the experience and feeling." Consistency is key. Regular, moderate training over many weeks is more effective than intense bursts followed by injury breaks. Listen to your body: rest when needed, and remember that recovery, good nutrition, and sleep are crucial. "Continuity is more important than progression. It’s better to train consistently over a long period rather than sporadically aiming for peak performance."
